Trinity Sport has launched a Youth Coaching Academy in conjunction with Sport Ireland and Swim Ireland. The Youth Coaching Academy is an initiative to provide 16 – 18-year-old budding coaches, youth leaders and sport professionals with the tools to start their journey in sport leadership. The Youth Coaching Academy will cater for 40 participants, with an application process taking place to select suitable candidates. Trinity Sport are working with Trinity Access Programme to provide five scholarship places for their link schools.

This exciting programme will be delivered by Trinity Sport training facilitators in association with Swim Ireland and Sport Ireland. The week-long academy will consist of workshops, training and interactive learning sessions, participants can expect a fun and educational week which will help to build confidence, increase knowledge and work on leadership skills. The Trinity Sport Youth Coaching Academy will take place from the 20th – 24th June (week one) and also from the 26th June – 1st July (week two) at Trinity Sport Centre.

We want participants to harness the skills and knowledge they develop during the Youth Coaching Academy to make a positive difference to their local communities.”

The weeklong Youth Coaching Academy will consist of:
• Fundamentals of movement
• Leadership and coaching skills workshop
• Water safety (facilitated by Swim Ireland)
• Safeguarding and protecting children (facilitated by Swim Ireland and Sport Ireland)
• Coaching Children workshop (facilitated by Swim Ireland and Sport Ireland)
• Performance coaching (led by Trinity Sport high performance team)
• Team building exercises

The Youth Coaching Academy costs €100 for non-members and €80 for members, closing date for applications for are 14th July (week one) and 20th July (week two). For more information and to apply click here.
